On Tuesday I had the pleasure to attend a very stylish event organised by Guerlain! I was invited to the Guerlain HQ here in Brussels in order to discover the new Makeup Collection for Fall 2016, the reinvented Lingerie De Peau foundation and the Multi-Perfecting Concealer.
I must tell you, I felt spoiled!
I had coffee in a beautiful room full of Guerlain products while being trained by Massaniello Bogaert – Training Director for Guerlain Europe – in doing my make-up with the new products.
He explained very patiently and elegantly, what are the correct steps for preparing the skin before applying makeup, how to create quick, easy and beautiful looks and how to transition from day-time to evening make-up with the new Guerlain launches.
- The very important first step is removing makeup and cleansing!
For the eyes I used the Biphase Eye Make-up Remover, for the face the Cleansing Milk and as a last cleansing step, I used the Micellar Lotion…all of them from the Beauty Skin Cleansers range.
- Next step is hydration!
I used the Face Treatment Oil from the Abeille Royale range (it was the first time and this product is spectacular…I have to have it!) in order to achieve a dewy finish!
Massaniello Bogaert’s tip for finding our foundation shade: trace 2 lines on the lower part of the cheek and wait a few seconds.
I used Lingerie de Peau in 03N Natural and applied it with the new foundation brush.
I’m telling you, this foundation is fabulous!
It’s hydrating, it has a staying power of 12+ hours (I did my make-up at the Guerlain HQ at 11 in the morning and removed it at 11.30 in the evening when my make-up was still impeccable), it doesn’t oxidise, it is easily buildable and with a medium coverage, it is light and refreshing, it offers a VERY natural look!
I used the Multi-Perfecting Concealer in 01 Clair Doré…again, fabulous product!
It’s hydrating, it offers a natural finish, it is buildable and the staying power is again 12+ hours without the need of retouching and without bringing out the fine lines.
Massaniello Bogaert’s tip for keeping fine lines under control: use a very hydrating eye contour product, NOT an anti-ageing product!
I used Terracotta Joli Teint in 00 Clair/ Light-Blondes and applied it with the Terracotta brush. Massaniello Bogaert’s tip is to first apply the pink shade just under the cheek bones and then to blend in the sun-kissed shade in order to achieve a satin and radiant finish.
I combined the two Palette 5 Couleurs Fall 2016 – 02 Tonka Impériale & 03 Coque D’Or – in order to achieve a natural smoky eye, perfect during the day but also during the evening.
For a more dramatic look, I’ve created a cat eye with the new L’Art Du Trait Precision Felt Eyeliner, which is excellent!
The last step was mascara, and I used Cils D’Enfer Maxi Lash!
I used a very fine coat of the Kiss Kiss Creamy Shaping Lip Colour for Fall 2016 in 520 Fall in Red and applied it with the lip brush. This creamy lipstick is super hydrating, comfortable and has a staying power of 4+ hours!
The Fall Collection 2016, the new Lingerie De Peau foundation and the Multi-Perfecting Concealer are already available in stores here in Brussels!
I’ll come back with more detailed reviews to the products because I’ve received a HUGE goodie bag; I also can’t wait to tell you more about all the beautiful brushes! Stay tuned!
Before leaving, I’ve had the honour of trying on two of the stunning creations by Fabienne Delvigne.
The first hat is Moscow and the second is New York; the collection includes 5 hats which honour 5 cities, a project in collaboration with Guerlain for the launching of the new La Petite Robe Noire – eau de parfum intense.
All of Fabienne Delvigne’s hats are sprayed with Guerlain Eau de Cashmere.
P.S The corridors at the Guerlain headquarters smell of perfume…seriously, how cool is that?!
Great event and so usefull in order to discover these amazing products. I also liked a lot the concealer, I received for a sfort test of 2-3 days and I was really surprised that is so hydrating, but also it covers so well the dark circles. Great tips you shared here :D. Look forward for the next reviews :).
Thank you, Ani! Hugs!
Ok, on the wishlist! Just read your “Best of 2016” and you got me hooked 😉
