Guerlain‘s Abeille Royale is my favourite range because it suits the needs of my complexion perfectly. The products have light textures yet very hydrating, they reduce the aspect of fine lines and improve the general aspect of the skin from the very first uses.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Double R Renew & Repair Serum (€123/30ml)
This product launched last June here in Brussels and I have been using it on and off since. It’s very versatile because it can be used as a makeup base but also as the first step in the skincare routine, before applying a cream (my favourite is the Abeille Royale Day Cream for Normal to Combination Skin, reviewed here), an eye cream (for example Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum reviewed here), an oil or another serum.
I’ve used it in the morning and also in the evening and I really love how the formula feels and how the product works.
The Double R Renew & Repair Serum is housed in a plastic (I like Guerlain‘s glass bottles more, this plastic one was a bit disappointing) pump bottle and has two chambers; one contains a serum and has a transparent texture and the other one contains a lotion-like formula.
The serum is a peeling product and contains a combination of three AHAs: lactic, citric and glycolic acid. It targets dull, dead skin and imperfections. It exfoliates efficiently but in a gentle way and I recommend it for all types of skin, even the sensitive ones.
The lotion targets the fine lines and the wrinkles, it also has a firming effect and improves the skin’s elasticity.
The product is very efficient and I could see the results after 3 or 4 days. The skin looks fresh, plump and radiant; the fine lines under my eyes are less visible and the pores look refined.
A little goes a very long, 2-3 pumps are enough for the face and neck area. The texture is non-sticky and penetrates the skin instantly without leaving any residues at the surface.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil (€120/50ml)
This product makes a powerful skincare combination together with the Double R Renew & Repair Serum.
It is a water-based product which contains micro drops of oil that burst as you apply it on your skin, leaving it revitalised, plump and glowy.
I recommend it for all types of skin because it has a light yet nourishing texture that is non-sticky and non-greasy. If you have sensitive skin, be careful because the Watery Oil contains perfume.
It can be used on its own or combined with other products (for example mixed in a face cream or a foundation).
It is housed in a glass bottle with pipette and I use 2cm for the entire face and neck area.
It makes a great makeup base for Guerlain‘s new foundation called L’essentiel Natural Glow making this one looking sheer and natural, like a second skin.
oh my wife would love this! I will buy it as a gift for her, I know she is gonna love it. Thank you so much for the recos.
This is a truly magnetic and useful product! I’m so happy to have discovered it, I have to buy it!
This has such a pretty bottle! I love finding new skincare to add to my routine too!
The packaging of this product is so gorgeous. It screams high-end. It also has me curious to give it a try because it sounds so indulgent.
This looks so luxurious. I really like that it’s light and not sticky or greasy. I can’t stand the feel of heavy products on my skin.
I was exactly searching for something like this because it would suit me well. I shall go for it!
Awesome review! This is one of the products that i would really love to try but its price is just sooo expensive. Hoping to get them soon on sale so I can start using it too.
I love experimenting with serums, the perfect one can do wonders for the skin. This sounds like a really good one. Thanks for the recco.
I love the design of the serum! It looks so luxurious and I bet it feels great on the skin.
