Clinique | Pep-Start Eye Cream

Clinique | Pep-Start Eye Cream

My first contact with Clinique was 5 years ago when I was in need of an efficient eye cream and I’ve chosen the ‘All About Eyes’ cream which brought me a lot of happiness.

I still recommend this product because it is one of the most efficient eye creams I’ve tried so far, especially when you’re dealing with puffy eyes.

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream (€21,90/ 15ml) | generated a lot of agitation within social media since its launching and I was VERY curious to be able to test this new product in order to express my own opinion here on the blog, of course.

First of all I must say that I simply love the package because it’s ergonomic, the tube has the perfect size in order to be easily carried in the luggage while travelling.

Also, the ball-like applicator gently massages the eye area, it cools and deflates puffy skin (even more when you keep the product in the fridge). The formula is very light, lotion-like, discreetly pearlescent.

It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky or greasy residue at the surface.

The product is perfume free and very gentle to the eye area; I have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts every day, still this product is very comfortable and I can only recommend it for people with sensitive eyes.

This product:

  • hydrates;
  • smoothes fine lines;
  • has slightly firming effects;
  • refreshes because the formula has a cooling effect; I recommend for the product to be kept in the fridge for even more effective refreshing results;
  • is slightly illuminating;
  • makes a great makeup base;
  • is overall a great product for the warm season.

Conclusion

I think that Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream is a great product and in my opinion it’s perfect for people between the age of 18-40 and/ or for people who don’t deal with deep wrinkles around the eye area.

It is great for those of you who deal with combination, normal and oily skin, however I don’t think it’s enough hydrating for people who deal with dry skin.

It doesn’t have an impressive effect on puffy eyes, it slightly de-puffs after massaging the eye area with the applicator, however, when you are dealing with really puffy eyes, like I do, the effects disappear after a very short while.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I always had under eye bags and I know mine won’t disappear, however there are other products (like for example the ‘All About Eyes’ product) which are more effective regarding this issue.
