Hello there, ladies! You probably know by know that I’m a fan of big beauty brands! I like it stylish and fancy, I believe in the high-end brands and they usually don’t disappoint…however, it happens from time to time for me to discover drugstore products, which are waaaay better than the fancy and expensive.
Here are my latest discoveries:
Guerlain Lait de beauté vs Diadermine Lait Démaquillant Hydratant
I was very excited about this new Guerlain cleansing range and I couldn’t wait to try some of the products; I needed a milk, so I bought the Lait de Beauté Cleansing Milk…and I don’t like it at all!
In my opinion, it’s below mediocre:
- It doesn’t cleanse properly, I need at least 6 cotton pads to remove the makeup and even so, it isn’t fully removed (and now you know what my makeup routine looks like…I don’t even put a lot of makeup on my face).
If I use my waterproof eyeliner, I have to use a different cleansing product for the eyes, because this one doesn’t manage waterproof at all (although it promises to remove ALL kinds of makeup on face and around eyes);
- Another VERY disappointing thing is the strong perfume! I don’t know why, cleansing products have to contain perfume…and in this case, such a strong one!
My eyes are burning every time I use the product! So, ladies, I don’t recommend this one! Buy something else for 40€…please!
My alternative is this Diadermine product: Lait démaquillant hydratant (hydrating cleansing milk). For sensitive and dry skin.
I know this product because my mother in law and my sister in law use it for years and now I use it as well, because it’s great and cheap!
Cleansing with this milk is a real pleasure, I only use 2 cotton pads to remove impurities from face and eyes; the texture is gorgeous, the perfume, very subtle and non-irritating; the product acts like a calming balm which cleanses the skin and prepares it for the next beauty product.
Chanel Liquid Eyeliner vs L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim
Another big disappointment is Chanel Liquid Eyeliner in Dream Blue from the limited collection “Blue Rhythm”.
I love the color because it’s an absolutely gorgeous metallic blue …but its gel-like texture is horrible; it’s so slippery, that it’s impossible to create a cat-eye look with this product; it also spreads all over and doesn’t last long.
Actually, I don’t even know which is more awful, the applicator or the texture! Price: 35- 40€.
My alternative is L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim in Blue.
The shade is not the same, but still beautiful, the applicator: excellent; it’s SUPER-precise, even if you are a beginner in using liquid eyeliners, with this one, you can create beautiful shapes.
It also lasts all day! I use the black shade for years now and I can only recommend it because it’s the best ever liquid eyeliner!
Caudalie Divine Scrub vs &other Stories Punk Bouquet Body Scrub
This product is not a disappointment, I love it and I’m a big fan of Caudalie.
I’ve been using the Divine Scrub from the moment it was launched and it’s gorgeous!
It smells divine, it exfoliates gently (I use it on the face as well) while nourishing and hydrating the skin. I truly recommend it!
However, if you want a cheaper alternative to this scrub (because the price is 21€), try this one from &Other Stories because it’s fabulous!
It only costs 9€!
An even cheaper alternative would be the mixture of coffee grounds and coconut oil!
