Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure to attend the Sisley event organised at the brand’s HQ here in Brussels and where I discovered the new launches for Spring. There are not many new products, however each of them is of impeccable quality. I’m very impressed with the makeup collection and with the makeup brushes.
Sisley Restorative Body Cream (€122,50/ 200ml) | This is the only product I haven’t received in the goodie bag, so I can only tell you my impressions after trying it on my hand at the event: it has a dense formula which absorbs into the skin instantly and completely.
It is great for dry and very dry skin.
Sisley White Ginger Contouring Oil (€137/ 150ml) | I was very curious to try this product mainly because I have varicose veins on my left leg.
It smells freshly of ginger, a scent I like very much because it’s not heavy and it dissipates after application.
The formula is of a dense oil which hydrates and smoothes perfectly, however there is a greasy film which remains at the surface of the skin after application; that is why I like to apply it only in the evening.
The product is efficient, it feels fresh and creates the sensation of light legs.
If you walk a lot, suffer of varicose veins or of tired legs, this product is a good investment.
Sisley Izia (€106,00/ 50ml) | This is the new perfume developed for Spring and if you are a rose lover, this one is definitely for you.
I cannot say that I’m a fan of the rose scent, however this is a very complex fragrance which develops, adapts to the skin ph and continuously changes a couple of hours after application.
At the beginning it’s a powdery rose scent, afterwards it’s more and more fresh and the pink pepper & the musk become obvious; so, for me it’s not the beginning that I like, it’s the process of development and the end.
For those of you who appreciate the ‘technical’ details, here are the notes according to the specialists at fragrantica.com:
- top notes: Aldehydes, White Bergamot, Pink Pepper
- middle notes: Rose, Floral notes, Angelica
- base notes: Amber, Cedar, Musk.
Sisley Phyto-Blush Twist in 3 papaya and 4 glow (€50,50/ 5.5g) | I’m a fan of the phyto-twist range, the phyto-lip twist and the phyto-eye twist are products which I use regularly and I can only say that they are generally pigmented, resistant, comfortable and super easy to apply.
You can imagine my excitement when I saw the phyto-blush twist range.
There are 4 available shades: 1 petal, 2 fushia, 3 papaya and 4 glow.
Besides the fact that I love the packaging – these blushes look super cute and are easy to handle – the formula is great.
3 papaya is creamy and pigmented, buildable, hydrating and with a natural finish.
4 glow is more discreet and it has a powdery finish; I love this shade so much, besides using it as a highlighter, I’m also using it on my eye lids.
Sisley Phyto-Touche sun glow powder in trio miel cannelle (€84,50/ 11g) | This luxurious bronzer comes with a mini kabuki brush and is housed in a beautiful golden zebra pattern compact with mirror on the entire inner lid.
The texture is like velvet on the skin, it is super pigmented and the 3 colour segments are large enough for each shade to be used on its own, however the finish is way more beautiful, when they are mixed.
It’s great for giving the skin that beautiful and sexy bronzed, slightly sculpted look.
Staying power, all day/ all night long without fading, caking or drying the skin. Just beautiful!
The mini kabuki is created, like all the other Sisley brushes that were launched for Spring, together with master Raphaël, French brushmaker since 1793.
It is created with synthetic super soft, dense bristles and is just a pleasure to use.
Sisley Phyto-Touche sun glow powder exists in 2 shades: trio pêche dorée & trio miel cannelle.
Sisley Brushes | Sisley launches 8 new makeup brushes developed together with master Raphaël, a benchmark in producing brushes for make-up as well as painting.
‘Each brush requires around thirty manual steps performed by expert brushmakers who have created and carried on the history of this family business.
The new range uses only synthetic bristles that have been specifically selected to best suit each make-up product.
With greater durability and hygiene, as they are less porous, they allow for a range of make-up looks suited to all product textures and applications.’
There are 8 new brushes:
- Fluid foundation brush €46
- Foundation brush €46
- Blush brush €46
- Powder brush €54,50
- Kabuki brush €52,50
- Eyeshadow shade brush €44
- Eyeshadow smudge brush €44
- Eyeliner brush €39,90
The brushes are pure luxury, I received the retractable kabuki brush in my goodie bag and I must say that presently, it’s the best brush from everything I own.
It’s soft, it takes the perfect amount of product, it can be easily cleaned, it dries fast and is perfectly sized for travel.
I’ll make sure to buy them all, they are definitely worth it.
