I’ve arrived from my first summer holiday yesterday; I’ve spent the first two weeks of July in Barçelona together with my family.
We simply love this city, it’s beautiful, people are super relaxed, beaches are gorgeous, the sky is a beautiful blue and the sun is
shining every day.
Such a big difference to the weather in Brussels!
I have always adored to lay in the sun, unfortunately for me, there have been many summers during which I forgot myself in the sun without wearing any sun protection and these mistakes are visible on my skin now.
After I gave birth, I have started using on the face, neck and décolleté area only sun protection with spf 50 (because of dark spots on the face and sun allergy on the chest); on the other body parts however, I like to alternate spf 50 during the first days at the beach with spf 30 after a while.
At the beginning of May, I had the pleasure to attend an event organised by L’Oréal where I had the opportunity to discover the new sun care products developed by Vichy and La Roche Posay.

I’ve also been lucky enough in order to receive a lot of products for me to try at home.
Here are my favourites, I truly recommend them because I’ve used them every day during my holiday and my skin has a healthy golden colour, without irritation and it looks smooth and hydrated.

The light gel-like texture is so beautiful; it really melts into the skin.
When the skin is wet, the product mixes with the water, captures somehow the water drops and then absorbs into the epidermis; when the skin is dry, it acts like a very light oil, offering a smooth and shiny finish.
Vichy Idéal Soleil SPF 30 Ultra-melting milk-gel for wet or dry skin hydrates throughout the day (even though my skin tends to be super dry when I’m at the seaside) and it is VERY water resistant.
It is not at all aggressive, I use it even immediately after waxing and the refreshing sensation is calming and soothing.
It is a pleasure to use this product and the perfume is just delicious!
This product is free of parabens and you can choose between SPF 30 and SPF 50.

Vichy has truly developed great products for this summer!
This one is an oil which can be used under the shower or normally on dry skin.
The texture is of liquid oil with a pleasant spa-like perfume which calms the senses.
I prefer to use it under the shower because I find it easier and I really love the idea of applying an oil under the shower.
The finish is smooth and silky.
The product absorbs into the epidermis and hydrates throughout many hours offering the skin the exact dose of moisture it needs.
It is refreshing, calming and I love to use it after waxing!

I recommend it throughout the year not only during summer.
It has a somewhat liquid, very light, milky texture with a discreet and pleasant fragrance.
It hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy and it makes a beautiful make-up base.
It is gentle to the skin, it smoothes the fine lines and blurs the pores!
La Roche-Posay ANTHELIOS 50+ Spray Ultra-Light (€22,00/ 200ml) | I use this product on the skin of my son because it is very easy and rapid
to apply, it absorbs instantly, it’s gentle, it hydrates and protects his sensitive skin.

It is very water resistant and comfortable.
The only thing that I don’t like it’s the fact that it leaves a few chalky white marks at the surface.

I’m really impressed with Vichy this year, the products they’ve developed are amazing. For those of you with very sensitive skin, please try La Roche-Posay!
Even if you don’t like to apply products on the skin while sunbathing, nowadays it’s so easy to find something you like because these brands really work on developing sun care products for each and every taste, I promise.
Just find something that suits your needs and never ever sunbathe without sun protection!
