Tested: The new Premier Cru The Elixir by Caudalie

Another oil that I wanted to get my hands on as soon as it came out in beauty stores, is signed Caudalie. I love this brand because none of the products disappointed me so far, and I have tested a lot of them. In addition, the ingredients used in the formula are natural and environmentally friendly.

What Premier Cru The Elixir promises

“This precious dry oil, the perfect marriage between luxury and efficacy, absorbs into the skin to provide all-around anti-aging action.

The skin is nourished, smoother, more radiant.

Half-oil, half-serum, it prepares and complements the action of your cream perfectly for a clinically-proven restructuring effect.”

My opinion

The Elixir from the Premier Cru range by Caudalie is a luxurious product presented in a beautiful, precious glass container equipped with pipette.

The texture is oily, in my opinion… It doesn’t feel like a serum-oil combination.

It has a pretty strong smell to me, but very pleasant.

The effects are almost immediate, as I was expecting.

It firstly has excellent smoothing effects; although my skin has no wrinkles yet (apart from the fine lines under my eyes) however it looks younger, refreshed and plump; it also looks brighter.

In addition, if you need (like me) a post- winter intensive skin hydrating treatment, the elixir is the best solution.

I do not see any possible effects on the pigmentation spots because mine are invisible during the cold season; apart from this, the product really delivers everything it promises.

It is recommended for all skin types, however I’m sure I won’t be able to use it during the hot days because it will feel too much on my combination skin; although a dry oil, some of the product remains on the surface after application and needs a few hours to fully penetrate the epidermis; therefore, I prefer to use the elixir in the evening.

I think it is perfectly suited for dry complexions and can be used alone or before applying the face cream.

The price is approximately 60€/29ml; it is recommendable to use 4 drops/ application, however I usually use about 1 cm on the pipette and this amount is enough for my face, neck, décolleté and hands area.

The product contains 99.5% natural ingredients, it’s non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested; it doesn’t contain parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulfate, animal ingredients.

Caudalie is one of my favourite brands but the Premier Cru Crème Riche did not really work for me, so I am curious to see how this one works…

Hi, Leen! This oil is really, really great…it worked like a beauty treatment for my after-Winter skin; now I only use it when I need a boost or a facial self-massage :)! Thank you for your visit and your comment!
