Last week I was happy to attend a very stylish event which took place in an elegant and chic location. I found that Le Louis XV (a pavilion inside the park du Wolvendael) was the perfect location for a Lancôme event.
The classic and beautiful architectural features of the pavilion, combined with the minimalistic and refined interior design, were just a match to this French beauty brand, with a tradition of 81 years and which offers an elegant, sometimes traditional approach to beauty, yet with a twist.
The object of this event, was the launching of the new makeup collection for Fall 2016 in collaboration with Sonia Rykiel.
This limited collection includes:
- La Palette Saint-Germain-Sonia Rykiel X Lancôme in A00 Saint-Germain and M00 Parisian Spirit (€53,30);
- Parisian Lips Le Crayon in A01 Parisian Audace, A02 Parisian Spirit, M01 French Sourire, M02 French Baiser (€23,75);
- Cushion Blush Subtil in 032 Splash Corail and 021 Sorbet Rose (€40,60);
- Vernis In Love in A33 Joie De Vivre, A44 Saint-Germain, M11 Café Blanc and M22 Café Philo (€17,85).
La Palette Saint-Germain-Sonia Rykiel X Lancôme in A00 Saint-Germain (€53,30) | The shades from this palette look more beautiful when applied on the skin, than the way they look inside the case.
They are very pigmented and long lasting (6+ hours) without smudging or sinking into the creases of the lid. They are easy to work with and buildable; they feel very comfortable and don’t irritate my sensitive eye area.
La Palette Saint-Germain-Sonia Rykiel X Lancôme in A00 Saint-Germain has 2 segments: the first segment includes 6 eyeshadows (3 mattes and 3 iridescent; the second segment is covered with a clasp and includes an eyelid base and 2 liners (one iridescent and one more matte, yet mixed with small, discreet glitters).
The double-ended applicator is good quality and travel-friendly.
The chic and fun Sonia Rykiel drawings on top of the palette definitely makes it a collector case.
Parisian Lips Le Crayon in A02 Parisian Spirit (€23,75/ 4.37g) | This double-ended lip crayon has a creamy translucent texture on one side and a more matte and very pigmented texture on the other side.
The concept of the product is to mix both textures in order to create blurry lips; however I like to wear them individually.
The creamy side is excellent during the days when I just need something hydrating and comfortable on the lips.
The other side is for transitioning to evening make-up or for sunny days when I like to accentuate my lips.
The matte crayon has a staying power of 4+ hours and it doesn’t dehydrate the lips; the creamy crayon has a staying power of 2+ hours.
Sonia Rykiel’s colourful stamp is visible on this Lip Crayon as well and makes it even more irresistible.
Cushion Blush Subtil in 02 Rose Limonade (€40,60/ 7g) | The Blush Compact that I received in my goodie bag at the Lancôme event has the ‘normal’ design, which means it does not belong to the Sonia Rykiel collection.
The ‘normal’ collection is not limited and includes different shades: 02 Rose Limonade, 022 Rose Givrée, 024 Sparkling Framboise, 025 Sorbet Grenadine, 031 Splash Orange and 032 Splash Corail.
I’m really fascinated by this product, and I must confess, it’s my favourite.
The Cushion Blush Subtil is one of the first of its kind and absolutely mind blowing.
This is such an innovative concept, I love it! The compact looks like jewellery and it’s so travel friendly.
The blush is liquid but very easy to work with, slightly buildable, super comfortable, hydrating, and long lasting (8+ hours).
It is a pleasure to apply this creamy product because it’ so silky, it also creates a natural look.
I prefer to apply it with my fingers, than with the mini puff applicator.
I push my index and middle finger on the cushion, which looks like a sponge and apply the product directly on the apples of my cheeks.
The texture is refreshing and offers a matte finish.
The product has a discreet flowery fragrance which disappears after application.
Bonus: the blush and the foundation from the Cushion range are rechargeable!
While drinking crisp champagne, I also had the pleasure, during the Lancôme event, to discover the new make-up trend: the LIP ART.
Lip art means creating degrade and ombre with different shades of lipstick.
The iconic Absolu Rouge (€32,05) is perfect for this trend since it offers a wide range of shades (21) with different finishes (creamy & matte).
