The Elequra story starts with Nairobi born Nausheen Qureshi who, as a girl, was fascinated with the healing properties of the traditional plants in this country and their efficiency when applied on cuts, burns etc. When she moved to UK, she studied at the Imperial College London and later she founded Elequra.

Elequra is a range of products made in UK which sooth, nourish the skin and work on diminishing the aspect of wrinkles.

‘We source our plants carefully to ensure they have the exact balance of nutrients we want, then use bespoke processes to extract the active ingredients and transform them into a highly concentrated form that your skin can recognise and use,’ Nausheen Qureshi explains.

Tamarind Seed Extract, for instance, is a powerful hydrator that Nausheen says is 40 per cent more effective than hyaluronic acid at attracting water molecules to help plump skin.

Another key ingredient is Rift Valley Algae Complex, which is bioengineered for over 4 months in the Elequra laboratories, a ‘skin superfood full of essential amino acids, fatty acids, bioactive enzymes, vitamins and minerals.’

The products are designed to suit all types of skin, even sensitive ones and are powerful without causing irritation or inflammation.

Elequra‘s pr team made a very positive impression on me from the very beginning during our email communication. They really wanted to know details about my skin and they took their time in order to think about which products could best suit my skin’s needs. I love it when I see this high level of professionalism and care.

They kindly sent me the Pure Balancing Cleanser, the Complete Replenishing Oil and the Rose Quartz Sculpting Tool.

I was also very impressed with the product packaging, everything looks so luxurious and you can see the amount of attention to details that the brand is investing in each and every product.

This cleanser smells fruity and has a wonderful refreshing effect on my skin. I use it as a second or third cleanse (depends on the type/ amount of makeup I’m wearing). I prefer to use it as the last step in the cleansing routine because it has a very brightening effect on the skin and is exfoliating, it removes the dead cells and prepares the skin for the next skincare products. A little goes a very long way, I basically use less than a pea amount for the face and neck area.

I’m also using this product in the morning, because it’s kind of a ‘coffee for the skin’.

Shake well before each use!

Complete Replenishing Oil (€54.69/30ml)

I usually use this product in the evening because it is very anti-inflammatory and I wake up with plump and fresh skin. I’ve also used it when my skin had sensitive or acne episodes and I could immediately experience the calming and healing effects. In order to make the effects even more powerful, I like to use this oil with my microneedling tool; I apply the product on cleansed face and then I roll my microneedling tool all over the face and in all directions possible. The results of this routine after two weeks are hydrated, bright and even looking skin; also, the fine lines under my eyes look less visible and the texture of my skin is tighter.

The Complete Replenishing Oil has a light formula, it is a dry oil that doesn’t leave greasy residues at the surface of the skin. I recommend it for all types of skin.

Rose Quartz Sculpting Tool (€39.88)

I’m a fan of sculpting tools and although I already have a face roller, I always wanted to use a gua sha. I like to keep it in a bowl of iced water for a few minutes and then use it on my face. It improves circulation and the skin looks tighter and refreshed after I use it. The small end is for the eye contour area; the larger end is for the jaw; and I use the long curved side to massage my neck. It can be used with any kind of products however I like to use it with an oil because that way it glides perfectly.

The difference between the face roller and this sculpting tool is the fact that whilst both are efficient for improving circulation and de-puffing, the gua sha is also sculpting the face, it is efficient in the jaw area where skin tends to sag.

I recommend for you to invest in a sculpting tool because it lasts forever, it’s cheap and efficient.
