Chanel launched a very chic and elegant makeup collection for this summer: ‘Skin is brightened by the light-and-shade play of healthy glow powders. Eyes are enhanced by an ombré effect of ochres and browns. Lips are sunkissed by coral and pink. Nails get noticed in smoldering shades’.
It is a limited collection called ‘Dans La Lumière de L’Été’ and includes:
- The Healthy Glow Multi-Colour, Les Beiges in Duo n°1 – a terra cotta brown with a golden sand, and Duo n°2 – a deep pink with a light beige;
- The eye shadow palette Empreinte du Désert;
- The Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Oasis – an emerald green and Sable – a rosy coral.
- Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof in Mirage – a copper brown;
- Lèvres scintillantes in Tanami, Adenium, Rouge Désert, Sirocco, Sahara and Dzhari;
- Le Vernis Culte in Turban – a peachy pink, Cavalière – a warm chocolate, Canotier – a beige, Espadrilles – a bright orange. Émeraude – a dazzling green.
This is a very warm collection which enhances the beauty of tanned skin, offers a multitude of combinations and is perfect for creating day-time makeup but also more elaborated night-time makeup.
The collection is based on beautiful shades which are perfect for summer but also for autumn.
The Healthy Glow Multi-Colour, Les Beiges in Duo n°2, limited edition (€55/ 11g) | This is such an elegant powder.
This blush/ highlighter duo is housed in Chanel’s signature beige lacquered square compact case with a mirror on the inner lid and accompanied by a demi-lune natural bristled brush.
It has a very discreet flowery scent which disappears after applying the product.
The concept of this range is that the very finely-milled texture of the powder provides the complexion with a healthy-looking and flawless natural glow.
The Healthy Glow Multi-Colour, Les Beiges in Duo n°2 has two segments, each of them big enough in order to be used on its own, however the effect is way better when the two of them are blended.
The upper segment is a light beige shade, perfect for elegantly illuminating the complexion; it offers a silky finish, it’s very easy to apply and suits most of the skin tones.
The bottom shade is rosy coral, perfect for creating a natural flush on the cheeks.
The product is buildable, pigmented and feels deliciously silky on the cheeks.
The Healthy Glow Multi-Colour, Les Beiges in Duo n°2 is perfect for the warm season because it compliments the tanned complexion, it doesn’t oxidise, it’s transfer-resistant and stays on the face all day/ night long without dehydrating the epidermis.
604 Lèvres Scintillantes Aqua Glossimer limited edition (€30 / 5,5g) | The name of this gloss is ’Sirocco’ and it’s a very powerful orange shade which is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for summer.
It is filled with Chanel’s ultra fine shimmer which lays down smoothly upon the lips.
The formula of the Glossimer range has changed and the applicator has also a new look.
Compared to my old Glossimer, the new texture is even richer, it moisturises my lips even after all traces of colour have gone, feels more comfortable, it’s less sticky and the staying power has also improved.
’Sirocco’ resists on my lips between 2 and 3 hours – compared to my older Glossimer which resists less than 2 hours – and is odourless, a detail which I find great.
The new applicator offers a more precise and comfortable application; it is so easy to apply this gloss, that you don’t necessarily need a mirror.
604 Lèvres Scintillantes Aqua Glossimer is the perfect lip product for summer and for having a sexy pout during the holidays at the beach.
This shade can be worn during the day but also during the evening; it can be also applied on top of a more matte orange shade in order to offer a shiny finish and keep the lips hydrated.
27 Mirage Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof limited edition (€33/ 6g) | This is my first waterproof mascara from this brand.
It is housed in the brands signature black lacquered casing and is a brown shade with a slight burgundy undertone.
I usually tend to avoid brown mascara hues mainly because the colour isn’t usually deep enough to give me the intensity I’m looking for, however this one offers the perfect definition and warmness to my lashes, also, a softer look, which I find perfect for summer.
The formula is just gorgeous, it isn’t aggressive at all, it doesn’t flake or smudge, it resists all day long (I’ve also been to the gym while wearing this mascara and my lashes looked impeccable even after an hour of intense sweating) while offering volume and length.
It comes off very easily, however I always use the Gentle Bi-Phase Eye Makeup Remover by Chanel, which is THE PERFECT makeup remover.
I have been a fan of Le Volume de Chanel for years and I always repurchase the mascara in Ultra-Noir because I simply cannot find a better product for my lashes.
27 Mirage Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof limited edition represents the more resistant version and I can only recommend either of the two products, which, as you can see in my comparative picture, have identical brushes.
