Last September Guerlain relaunched their cult foundation Lingerie de Peau by revisiting its formula and adding several shades to the range and thus reaching a wider audience. Together with the foundation, a new Foundation Brush is available; the dense brush has very soft and velvety bristles which offer a natural, dewy, glowy look.
Another launch was the Multi-Perfecting Concealer made with a revolutionary new hybrid formula that will both correct dark circles and detract from imperfections.
Since September last, I’m using the foundation and the concealer daily; from my point of view these two products are the best.
In the meantime, I’m also a student at a make-up school here in Brussels, and during my practice hours, I’ve been testing the foundations and the concealers on several skin types and carnations.
The results are just impeccable! With one single exception (the model had VERY dry skin) the products offered a flawless complexion to all of the models I’ve been working with so far.
Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Skin-Fusion Texture SPF 20 (€56,50/30ml) | The product truly fusions with the skin.
Housed in a glass bottle with clean-cut lines (much elegant than the original coffin shaped bottle), the product has a medium formula, neither too thick, nor watery, and a light pleasant fragrance which disappears after application.
It completely melts into the skin and it offers a natural, flawless finish.
It is super comfortable, it doesn’t crease, it doesn’t oxidise, it has a staying power of 10+ hours (with a primer underneath it).
I like to apply it with my fingers and a little seems to go a long way.
It spreads easily along the skin and dissipates quickly after application.
It is the perfect foundation for normal, sensitive, combination and oily skins.
It can work for slightly dryer skin but it’s definitely not enough for very dry skin. It works gorgeously for all ages between 20+ and 80+.
The foundation is available in 14 new shades categorised by level of intensity and undertone: cool, neutral, warm and optimised for a broad range of complexions from fair to deep.
Guerlain Foundation Brush (€48) | It is a dense compact-headed brush made with ultra-soft synthetic fibres.
It resembles a powder brush but the fact that the bristles are rounded from all angles means you won’t get streaks or any harsh demarcation lines.
The bristles also help apply the perfect quantity of product without the risk of overloading the skin; and they are supple enough to adjust to all facial contours from every angle.
The foundation Brush is housed in a protective & washable sleeve to help prevent bacteria and damage, it also has a very travel friendly size.
I usually apply Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Foundation with my fingers and use the brush to lightly buff everything in for a more smoother and even finish.
Guerlain Multi-Perfecting Concealer (€36,50/12ml) | The product is available in 6 shades split between cool and neutral/warm.
It has a hybrid formula, it hydrates the under eye area and also illuminates.
The texture is creamy and just a little thick, but with a surprisingly easy spread and once applied it’s lightweight and offers a blurring effect.
It doesn’t crease nor oxidise, it has a staying power of 8+ hours and merges beautifully with the foundation throughout the wearing.
It’s comfortable, lightweight, it doesn’t emphasises the fine lines and it offers a fresh and flawless look.
The product is perfect for normal, combination, oily and dry skin (ages between 20+ and 80+). I don’t recommend it for those of you who deal with very dry skin.
